The Foundation provides funding for innovative research ideas that will contribute to the development of the yield and techno-economic utilization of Finland’s natural resources. The target is to find breakthroughs and innovations related to sustainable development.

We endeavour to communicate to the public at large about the ideas, observations and possible innovations generated by the research funded by the Foundation. Blogs written by research teams are posted on the Foundation’s website to shed light on the outcomes of the research and ideas emerged during their research.

The first blog writer is Dr. Jiri Pyörälä.  Please check out his dissertation  Assessing wood properties in standing timber with laser scanning from the blog on the left.
